New England Lighthouse | 4K AMSR [Bike Ride in Sunglasses]

Autumn · Clear · 27 min · September 2022

An experiment, filed honestly as one: a bike ride out to a New England lighthouse, filmed through a filter meant to sit you behind sunglasses for the whole ride. It starts at the entrance of a beach town, rolls out along a peninsula — ocean on one side, bay and the mainland on the other — and pauses at the lighthouse, where the bike is set down and the walk takes over for a lap of the property. Then back on the wheels, out to the rest of the peninsula beach. The lighthouse's history runs back to the Revolutionary War. The original video never names it, and this page keeps that — a tower and a town left unnamed. Nobody speaks at all, in fact, which keeps it as usable for sleep and study as the walks are. Not every idea needs to become a series. Some are just one ride, one tower, one stretch of coast — kept because it happened.

Best with headphones — the audio is true binaural. Watch on YouTube (recommended on TV).

The Quiet List

A note when a new walk goes up. Four or five a year, usually autumn and winter. Nothing else.
