4K Walking on Rainy Day - Historic Cambridge Neighborhood near Harvard - Binaural ASMR Walk

A rainy day in the historic neighborhood on the outskirts of Harvard — one of my favorite places in Cambridge to walk, and this recording is the closest I can come to explaining why. The streets here are lined with old Victorian and Second Empire houses, architecture that was built to be looked at slowly and mostly no longer is. Rain helps with that. It slows the street down, keeps the pace honest, and gives the microphones something to do: natural rainfall recorded in binaural 3D, falling on the whole neighborhood at once with you somewhere inside it. Houses like these have outlived everyone who called them new. In this weather they seem to know it — not sadly, just certainly. There is no destination. The wandering is the walk. Cozy is the word the notes use, and for once the notes are right.
