The notes say the university sprawls across much of Cambridge and keeps hidden-away pockets that reward exploring; this walk stays inside one of them and declines to name it. What that leaves is autumn rain doing its ordinary work: natural rainfall first, then the city ambience underneath, the binaural mics holding each sound where it belongs around you. The notes point at nothing in particular here, which is the appeal — a famous university met from the side, at walking pace, with the weather as the main event. This is a walk for the second or third visit to Cambridge, after the Yard has been seen — or for people who will never go, and prefer the version of a place where nothing is being advertised.
