A wet spring morning, headed into the Boston Garden. It begins where the Charles River Esplanade meets the Mass Ave Bridge, and the rain keeps a steady rhythm on the umbrella all the way in. What the recording holds is early springtime in Boston: the rain, the river path, the city starting its day, and at the end the Garden itself. One note on the picture — this walk runs a little darker than usual. A new polarizing lens got its first outing here, and it took more light than expected. The sound is unaffected: binaural as always, rain where the rain was. If the Garden in full bloom is one kind of walk, this is the other kind — the Garden before all of that, early in the season, early in the day, held under one umbrella.
