Frozen Midnight Walk in Boston - Seaport District - 4K ASMR
Midnight at the Boston Seaport, cold enough that the boardwalks have the district to themselves. This is a neighborhood I usually bike through with friends; coming back to walk it at midnight in freezing weather is a different proposition, and a better recording. The boardwalks run along the water with the skyline standing over them, lit and indifferent, every window somebody's late night or nobody's at all. Forty-three minutes, 4K, with 3D binaural sound — one of the first shoots on the current full-frame camera setup, for those who track that sort of thing. Cold this sharp does something to city sound: it hardens the edges, carries footsteps further, and thins the traffic to almost nothing. The Seaport at midday is busy and new; the Seaport at frozen midnight is just shapes and light and the water under the boards. That version is the one worth keeping. Sleep, study, or the long end of your own night.
Best with headphones — the audio is true binaural. Watch on YouTube (recommended on TV).
The Quiet List
A note when a new walk goes up. Four or five a year, usually autumn and winter. Nothing else.
